Let’s start knowing this. I was a worker bee. Thousands in customers, over a hundred distributors under me, and as many Network Marketers find, the “warm market” is only so big. I was fortunate as I was one of those who knew many people in the fitness industry, and my chosen vehicle fit the niche.
Even for me, when the lists, the warm markets, the recalling of the lists, the continued phone calls to those who were telling me no for the fourth time, meant I was out of active leads. Sure, there are the tips and tricks of getting the random distributor, or the 3 foot rule (everyone within three feet heard about my opportunity). I became “that guy”.
I listened diligently to my up line, and did exactly what I was told. More of the same. I’m an extremely positive person, however even I got tired of trying to expand a business for which I was out of leads. There was nobody in my up line who wanted to share how they possibly could know 5000 people, so the research began.
I studied not only those who were in my particular business, but those in others. Those who were KILLING it in their chosen profession. I noted that several had the ability to go from company to company to company and always seem to reach that upper region of the comp plan, no matter the product, no matter what.
I also noted that each had a strong online presence on Facebook, Twitter, their own websites, YouTube Channels and the list goes on and on. Further research showed that nearly all the big wigs were using Internet Marketing Systems to help them grow their business, regardless of the business. The light bulb goes off as some might say, and it was clear that to make next level money happen, I needed to “Go Pro” and search high and low for a System that followed in their footsteps. I did this. It was well worth it!
Now, there is something to be said about working the system within any chosen Network Marketing business, because most of the good ones provide an enormous amount of great information and assistance in helping a business grow. Some are better than others of course, but I whole heartedly agree that knowing your preferred business is paramount to overall and long-term success.
That being said, your up line wants to be “in the know”, and they want you only so far “in the loop”. Getting to the next level isn’t as easy as clicking a mouse, but if the correct Internet Marketing System is garnered, one that works and works best for you as a Network Marketer, then it’s time to let your own research begin. There’s nothing like having the System provide you with people who call YOU to inquire about signing up for your opportunity. But, I do understand why the “big wigs” want to keep that a secret, and have us “worker bees” on their Teams.
Yes, it takes time to do the research, and it takes work to get Marketing Systems working for you. But, when it happens, people find that suddenly THEY are becoming known as a Big Wig! I’m on my way, and remember, you don’t always have to listen to your up line!
